This year-long remodel and restoration uses the majority of the original structure by repurposing materials in useful and ingenious ways. Wood siding from the former broken-down garage has become the tread of an interior stairway. Lath from demolished plaster walls has been put back into use. All of this has been done with care and craftsmanship. A rare and understated showpiece, it is a home with beauty, grace and a compelling narrative all its own.
